Tekda is actively engaged in addressing environmental issues and promoting sustainable development
In 2014, Tekda became one of the pioneering industries in the Stockholm area to install a solar panel system. Through the investment in renewable energy and the implementation of LED lighting in its manufacturing facility, Tekda aims to position itself as one of the most climate-smart manufacturing companies in Sweden. The company contributes to the climate targets set by the United Nations and the European Union, as well as to sustainable development through its initiatives involving solar panel installation and LED lighting.
The solar panel installation encompasses a total area of 950 square meters, comprising 594 solar panels manufactured by LG MONO 295Wp Neon X. Additionally, Tekda has successfully completed the transition of its entire lighting system to LED technology. Collectively, these two initiatives have resulted in a 70% reduction in the company’s annual electricity consumption, translating to a decrease of 300,000 kilograms in annual CO2 emissions.
Our products are engineered for durability and are designed to operate continuously, 24/7, with minimal requirements for spare parts and energy consumption over time. Even after more than a decade of service, our products can be renovated and updated, extending their lifespan by several additional years.
Environmental certificate
Tekda is currently certified according to Svensk Miljöbas (SUSA- Sustainable Standards).
Svensk Miljöbas is an environmental management standard that is based on the principles of operational planning and business development with a third party audit and certification.
EcoVadis
Tekda has been awarded a Bronze medal by EcoVadis in recognition of our sustainability performance.
The importance of environmental, social, and ethical considerations is steadily increasing. In 2024, Tekda undertook a comprehensive evaluation of our sustainability practices through EcoVadis, a respected independent global standard for business sustainability assessments.
EcoVadis serves as a sustainability rating tool that not only evaluates current performance but also highlights areas for future improvement.
To qualify for a medal, a minimum score must be attained in each of the four categories: Environment, Ethics, Labor & Human Rights, and Sustainable Procurement.
In the 2024 evaluation, we were awarded a Bronze medal, positioning us within the top 35% of all companies assessed.
